Christmas Events in York: Santa’s Breakfast
We’ve added a seasonal twist to our regular breakfast offering in our Forest restaurant. The new menu item (that we’ve aptly named 'Santa's Breakfast') is based on the favourite foods of Saint Nicholas and will be available for a limited time only.
Having spoken with Father Christmas himself, our team has created a hearty new breakfast option; perfect to start the day if you’re planning some last-minute shopping, or are attending other Christmas events in York!
What’s On Our Festive Breakfast Menu?
Served fresh from our Forest kitchen, 'Santa’s Breakfast' will feature an array of festive delights. These will include pigs in blankets, black pudding served with cranberry relish, and a delicious maple roast rosti. There'll also be chestnut-stuffed mushrooms with red onion marmalade and dusted cinnamon toast.
Other breakfast favourites such as homemade beans, roasted cherry tomatoes and eggs round off our delicious menu.
Christmas Events in York: The Inspiration Behind Santa’s Breakfast
Rebecca, our owner here at Galtres Lodge, spoke about our Santa-inspired menu. She said, “We love Christmas at Galtres Lodge and we wanted to have a bit of festive fun with our menu this year.
“Hoping to find out what hearty breakfast keeps Santa going on his long shift, we put a call into the North Pole and were delighted to hear back. Based on what he told us, we've created a special, limited-time breakfast dish that incorporates classic English favourites with well-loved festive twists.
“We have sampled the outcome and can confirm that it is both delicious and nostalgic – the cranberry relish, in particular, evokes memories of past Christmases!
“We hope 'Santa’s Breakfast' will get people into the festive spirit and remind them what Christmas is all about – spending time and making memories with family and friends.
“We will also be offering a variety of other seasonal activities at the hotel in the lead-up to Christmas, so watch this space for more information coming soon.”
