With the cold, wintry nights setting in, we’ve decided to offer a cosy garden dining experience. In our Star Grazing package, guests can feast under the stars and twinkling fairy lights, wrapped in fleece blankets.

Heated Outdoor Dining: Creating Our Secret Garden
When the hospitality industry first began to reopen after the COVID-19 lockdown, the restrictions only allowed for outdoor dining. This encouraged restaurants to improve their outdoor spaces and install heaters.
Here at Galtres Lodge, we transformed our outdoor space into a ‘secret garden’ during the lockdown, and it’s remained popular among our guests ever since.
The cosy atmosphere provides the perfect setting for a romantic date night. Warm blankets and hot water bottles are available to keep our guests comfortable for the evening.
Heated Outdoor Dining: Our Star Grazing Menu
As part of the experience, we serve fresh Forest dishes for our guests to enjoy under the stars. These include seasonal homemade delicacies, such as our hearty roasted celeriac & stilton soup with hot tear-and-share bread.
We're also serving Yorkshire puddings (paying homage to our roots!) and a fondue course of baked Tunworth complete with croutons, grapes and celery dippers.
For a festive experience, why not opt for a spiced mulled cider or an indulgent, boozy hot chocolate?
Those with a sweet tooth can toast giant marshmallows on our Cointreau flame, which you can then sandwich between homemade shortbread biscuits. To finish off, you can drizzle your sticky s’mores with hot chocolate sauce.
Our Star Grazing package is available throughout November and December from 5pm onwards, for £45 per couple.
The Star Grazing Experience
The experience is the perfect backdrop for some beautiful Instagram shots. Rebecca, the owner here at Galtres Lodge, said, “We’re very excited about our new and exclusive Star Grazing experience.
“We changed and adapted so many times throughout the Coronavirus pandemic. One of the best things that came out of that difficult time was the development of our Secret Garden. We converted an unused space into a beautiful courtyard that proved popular all summer.
“Instead of letting the Secret Garden go to waste in the winter months, we created an innovative 'Star Grazing' package for our guests instead. Visitors can now cosy up under heaters and blankets and enjoy a night out with their loved ones whilst grazing on delicious food from Forest.
“We hope this concept will boost business and appeal to customers. It offers them a new way to enjoy the season without restricting them indoors. By utilising our atmospheric Secret Garden, we hope the Star Grazing package will be a hit amongst locals and travelling customers alike.”
